Ingersoll
Ingersoll, one of the oldest American watch companies was founded in 1880 by brothers Robert and Charles Ingersoll. Their main goal was to make wrist watches widely available and affordable.
Ingersoll is the company behind the famous ‘Dollar-Watch.’ This timepiece was extremely accurate and costing a single dollar. The company registered a major success, selling nearly one million Dollar-Watches.
The brothers thought ahead of their time. In 1919, they produced their Radiolite watch, the first timepiece to have a luminous dial elements.
Unfortunately, the quartz revolution of the 70s seriously undermined the popularity of Ingersoll watches and they nearly disappeared. Still, the descendants of the Ingersoll brothers reformed the company and brought it back to life in 1991. Ingersoll watches are once again gaining popularity today.
Ingersoll’s collections are two: Ingersoll Automatic and Ingersol Bison. Both collections rely on classic looks and the use of high quality components.
