Obaku
Obaku presented its watches for the first time at BaselWorld in Switzerland in 2007. Two Danish designers, Christian Mikkelsen and Lau Liengard Ruge, are responsible for the Obaku concept.
The most important notions behind Obaku designs are functionality and simplicity. The lines are clean and minimalist.
Obaku is a term derived from Zen philosophy, which focuses on harmony, acceptance of the present moment and letting go of judgmental thinking and stereotypes. Not surprisingly, the Obaku slogan is “Forget about time, let the moment rule!”
The most important line is Obaku Harmony. The design is classic and unpretentious. Night is the dark line of the collection. Obaku has a number of other series available for both ladies and gentlemen.
Obaku uses high quality materials like hand polished stainless steel and titanium. Some watches come with titanium coating which is long-lasting. All straps are made of genuine leather.
